We are delighted to announce that the Milton Keynes Breakers Basketball Club has been voted Community Basketball Club of the Year 2022, South Region, by Basketball England. The Breakers will now move forward for consideration for the overall National Community Club of the Year Award.<\/p>\n

Commenting upon the award, Chairman Peter Taylor reflected on the significance of the accolade, \u201cThis award is recognition for the hard work put in by our players, coaches, parents, volunteers, and administrators. I would like to extend a thank you to all those involved. Whilst MK Breakers continue to see success on the court with all our Junior & Senior National league teams, this award is a reminder that we provide much more than just elite basketball. Our weekly community sessions accommodate over 700 boys and girls playing basketball on a weekly basis. Our recently for Breakers Community Basketball League (CBL) also offers a more competitive environment as part of the Clubs commitment to participation at every level.\u201d<\/p>\n

Southern Regional Chair, Jeff Skinner, paid tribute to the Regional winners \u201cOn behalf of the area associations of the South region I would like to add my congratulations to our regional winners of the BE volunteer awards. They are the peak of the many volunteers on whom we rely and they set a standard for all to emulate.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCongratulations to all of our winners in the Southern Region!\u201d said Gail Richards, Senior Delivery Manager for Basketball England. “It is fantastic to acknowledge so many worthy winners from the South. Each and every one of the winners have given their all to grow and develop the sport so it’s only right that they receive the recognition that they deserve, congratulations to all of the Southern Region award winners.”<\/p>\n

All of the regional winners across the 12 award categories will be reviewed by a panel, with a total of three nominees per category then being shortlisted to be considered for National Awards.<\/p>\n
