{"id":1959,"date":"2023-07-15T18:13:49","date_gmt":"2023-07-15T17:13:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mkbasketball.club\/?p=1959"},"modified":"2025-04-04T23:38:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T22:38:03","slug":"mike-new-jr-back-for-23-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mkbasketball.club\/2023\/07\/15\/mike-new-jr-back-for-23-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Mike New Jr back for 23\/24\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The MK Breakers are delighted to announce Mike New Jr as their second signing for the 2023\/24 season, the club&#8217;s first in NBL Division 2.<\/p>\n<p>MK native New Jr, the recipient of the Coaches\u2019 Award in 2022\/23, produced consistently for Coach Beddow\u2019s side, averaging 15 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game in the Breakers\u2019 maiden season.<\/p>\n<p>Some of New Jr\u2019s best performances came during the Breakers\u2019 historic cup run, including a 22-point, 11 rebound double-double vs Newcastle University in the last 16, and a 24-point outing including some clutch baskets to see the team over the line vs Manchester Magic in the quarter finals.<\/p>\n<p>New Jr is excited to build on the success of this season, \u201cI\u2019m happy to be re-signing with the Breakers for this coming season! We\u2019ve added to what was already an incredibly strong roster and I think we\u2019ll make some noise in D2. I\u2019m looking forward to getting back into our home court in front of our amazing fans and putting on a show!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Head Coach Billy Beddow added, \u201cWe\u2019re really happy to have Mike back again! Continuity is a big thing for the team as we aim to keep building and improving.
