{"id":6452,"date":"2025-02-15T09:55:00","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T09:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mkbasketball.club\/?p=6452"},"modified":"2025-02-15T09:53:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-15T09:53:27","slug":"jordan-spencer-returns-to-the-breakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mkbasketball.club\/2025\/02\/15\/jordan-spencer-returns-to-the-breakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan Spencer Returns to the Breakers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Milton Keynes Breakers are delighted to announce the return of Jordan Spencer after Newcastle Eagles released him from his contract on his request at the end of January.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spencer, who enjoyed a successful stint with the Eagles, including winning the Super League Basketball (SLB) Trophy last month, parted ways with the North East club with their full support so he can pursue an exciting career opportunity away from the basketball court.<\/p>\n<p>Jordan returns to his hometown club now Milton Keynes is his working base in the new full-time role with EPIC as part of their Pro Sports Advisory programme.<\/p>\n<p>The rigorous schedule of the Newcastle Eagles, who compete in both the SLB and European North Basketball League (ENBL), meant Spencer had to make the difficult decision to step away from British Basketball\u2019s most decorated franchise and competing in our sport\u2019s top-flight.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\">Speaking to Newcastle Eagles, Spencer noted how hard the decision was for him to make,<\/span><\/strong><em> \u201cThis decision hasn\u2019t come lightly but I\u2019ve had an opportunity for my career after basketball that I could not step away from.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He added, <em>\u201cThe Eagles is a truly professional organisation that have been amazing to me both on and off the court. I can\u2019t thank them enough.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 140%; color: #ed1c24;\"><a style=\"color: #ed1c24;\" href=\"https:\/\/sport.lokkaroom.com\/mk-breakers\/tickets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tickets: MK Breakers vs Hemel Storm 1st March<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Spencer enjoyed an incredibly successful two seasons in Milton Keynes as he spearheaded the club\u2019s historic rise through the National League. In his two seasons as Captain, he guided the Club to back-to-back promotions as the club went from NBL Division 3 to NBL Division 1 in record time.<\/p>\n<p>Spencer\u2019s MVP performance also led the Breakers to National Cup Final glory in 2024 as they became the first non-NBL Division 1 team to win the competition in over 50 years.<\/p>\n<p>The Cup Final MVP was one of four MVP awards Spencer picked up in his two seasons with the club. He was also named Milton Keynes Inspiring Sportsperson of the Year in June 2024.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\">Speaking following re-joining the Breakers, Spencer commented,<\/span><\/strong> <em>&#8220;It feels great to be back in Milton Keynes and I look forward to being able to contribute straight away for the Breakers.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI\u2019m hoping my competitiveness and desire to win carries through to the team and puts us in a position to win silverware.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;I\u2019m looking forward to playing in front of friends and family and being able to compete every single game for the Breakers fans.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\"><strong>Head Coach Billy Beddow-Patel added,<\/strong><\/span> <em>&#8220;Having Jordan back is a huge boost for us. He\u2019s been a key part of our journey, and his leadership, talent, and experience will have a massive impact both on and off the court.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Jordan is a proven winner, and his ability to elevate those around him is something that makes him so special. Whether it\u2019s his playmaking, scoring, or just his presence in the locker room, he raises the standards for everyone.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Jordan will make his return to the court for the Breakers tomorrow as the team travels to Reading Rockets in a preview of next month&#8217;s KitKing Trophy Final.
