Sunday evening saw MK Breakers Men make the trip north, taking on COB Rockets at Nechells Wellbeing Centre with a place in the final of the BCB Trophy up for grabs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the other semifinal having already been played, the two teams knew before tip-off that Yorkshire Dragons \u2013 who beat Falkirk Fury \u2013 were waiting for them in the showpiece event.<\/p>\n

The game got off to a slow start, with Breakers missing a number of three-point attempts and going into the half time break trailing 41-32. Rockets then started the third quarter in impressive fashion, forcing a number of turnovers and stretching their lead to as many as 19 points.<\/p>\n

Despite the team\u2019s struggles there was another impressive performance from Chris Tawiah, the Breakers big man weighing in with an impressive 14 points from just nine shots and adding 11 rebounds along the way.<\/p>\n

It would ultimately be in vain however, Rockets holding off a late fightback from the visitors to see out the game, winning by a 79-71 final score, much to the dismay of Breakers Head Coach Ben Stanley.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a poor performance from us across the board,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/strong><\/span> \u201cWe\u2019re really disappointed to go out at this stage and not reach the final, it would\u2019ve been another big game and a great experience for our fantastic supporters.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cInstead we\u2019ve got to look back at what went wrong for us, then get to work on putting that right as quickly as possible so we can start to display the quality we know we have in this group.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
